Meridians

In acupuncture therapy, it’s believed that
a type of energy called “qi,” which nourishes the human body,
circulates throughout the entire body
via pathways known as meridians.
Imbalances in this energy are thought to cause discomfort,
and adjusting it is the essence of meridian therapy.

The names of internal organs are assigned to meridians,
such as the Lung Meridian and Kidney Meridian.
Each organ is associated with specific emotions,
and it is believed that excessive sadness can negatively impact lung function,
while poor lung function can contribute to a tendency towards sadness.
Two thousand years ago, medicine considered the interconnection of the human mind and body.

The correspondence between organs and emotions is outlined below:
       The lung meridian— Sadness
       The kidney merian— Fear
       The liver meridian— Angar
       The spleen meridian—Overthinking
       The heart meridian— Excessive Joy

The advantage of meridian therapy is that it enables the treatment of both internal organs and the mind
by utilizing acupoints on the body surface.
